Mauricio Salgado

Mauricio was born in Chile and obtained his degree in Sociology with honours (Magna Cum Laude) at the Universidad Alberto Hurtado (Chile). He has been involved in various research projects, such as Value-Added Analysis in education, consumer behaviour in financial markets and organizational development. As well, he has been a teacher and teaching assistant in different courses about sociological theory. He is currently interested in computer simulation of communicational interaction and, specifically, the dynamic by which communication constrains individual choices and motivates individuals to act and experience in a relatively coordinated way. The proposed research aims to study and understand this processes by means of a multi-agent simulation model. The research is funded by the Ford Foundation International Fellowships Program and the Chilean National Scholarship Program for Graduate Studies.
