Julia Warsap
MSc (Leicester), PGDip (Leicester)
Julia Warsap has a background in marketing and operations management within the media industry, and has worked as a project manager in the University sector. She holds a Master’s Degree in Communications from the University of Leicester, specialising in Journalism, a PGDip in Management also from Leicester, and holds PRINCE 2 / MSP project management certificates and CIM/CAM marketing accreditations.
After graduating, for 10 years Julia worked in project and operational roles within the television news industry, co-ordinating the logistics of getting people and equipment into often tricky situations around the globe, to bring the news home. She was fortunate to work for companies such as Associated Press, BBC and NBC.
Julia then joined the University of Surrey as the Programme Manager for Space, connecting academia with industry for grant applications and research collaborations and managing the University’s prestigious contract with Airbus.
Europe then beckoned for a while with her family, at which point she went into freelance marketing. Now firmly back on British soil, Julia is looking forward to working closely with the CECAN research team and partners, to help make the centre a success and promote its outcomes and impact to stakeholders and the general public.
