Elias Schmitt
Elias Schmitt has a bachelor’s degree in ‘Management and Economics’ and is currently studying the master programme ‘Economic Policy Consulting’ at the Ruhr- University Bochum (Germany). As part of the master programme, he is completing a traineeship at CRESS.
As a student assistant at the Institute of Macroeconomics at the Ruhr-University, Elias supports the research team by developing and analysing qualitative scenarios as part of the ACT-project ELEGANCY. The goal is to develop several potential and consistent scenarios and to identify driving factors for a successful transformation of the energy system. To cope with the complexity related to the transformation of energy systems, an interdisciplinary approach is chosen which combines research teams from law, engineering, social sciences and economics.
During his master programme, Elias is focusing on studying the integration of climatic effects in macroeconomic models and the combination of carbon pricing systems with agent-based modelling.
