Jie Jiang is a Research Fellow working on the HomeSense project (http://sensors-in-social-research.net/). Her work mainly focuses on developing software for collecting data from the sensors deployed in people's homes and building computational models for extracting knowledge from the sensor-generated data.

She obtained her PhD from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands and has a background in Artificial Intelligence with a focus on normative multi-agent system design and verification.

Her research interests include sensor-based activity recognition, internet of things, machine learning, multi-agent systems. She is particularly interested in applying computational approaches (e.g., machine learning, agent simulation) to understanding and tackling problems in sociotechnical systems.
